I am Adeline Boettcher and I am passionate about all things biology, medicine, and writing related!
I started my career in science by earning my BS degree in Biology from North Central College in 2015.
I continued my education at Iowa State University and earned my PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology in 2019. I had the privilege to work on the development of cancer and humanized biomedical models in pigs with severe combined immunodeficiency (check out the publications tab for more info!).
I continued my research career at Northwestern University as a Post-Doctoral Fellow during 2019 where I studied immunotherapies for prostate cancer in mouse models.
I started this blog in August of 2019 as a place to hone my skills on technical science writing. I was looking to make a transition from academics to writing. In October 2019, I started my career in scientific publishing as a Scientific Editor with the Radiological Society of North America. Here I edit manuscripts in the journals of Radiology: Imaging Cancer, Radiology: Artificial Intelligence, and Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging!
I am always looking for opportunities to help others grow and develop in the areas of scientific and academic writing!
